THERAPY & CUBE PRESENTS:
A night of Artistic Expression and Dance Music Decadence

Saturday 05 July 2008 at 8pm
Carfax, Newtown Johannesburg

TV SUPERSTARS STEP OUT AT THERAPY

Therapy and Cube is proud to present a night of artistic expression and social frivolity featuring the exclusive showing of SNAKES at 8:30pm / a 23 minute film by alternative director, Stanimir Stoykov, staring Robert Whitehead, Brian Webber, Carl Beukes, David Lee Ripley and Yolande Sinder, followed by a cabaret performance at 9pm. An exhibition that include the work of established multimedia artists, Alexandra Fabris and the talent of Martin Sherman will be on display as doors open at 8pm. Featured Djs for the evening are Stuart Hillary, Russell LDQ and Groovy Q.

The Exhibition

Alexandra Fabris: "Fine Artist working on and off depending on time and interest in the projected shows / My work has always been about personal journeys which carry a universal wisdom shared by enlightened viewers and fellow Artists. This time round, a snippet of what's to come in a mammoth one man show, I present the cycles of confused pain in its processed form. 'Raped or Ravished' is the title – the answers lie in the eye of the beholder."

Martin Sherman: "Ordinary every day objects and materials transformed into extra ordinary sculpture / installation. Neat or tidy / A compilation of art and environment / The emphasis on out-of-this-world. Weird and wonderful; the 'Space Kadettes' (mutant like space person crew) rant and rave about-town with bells and whistles. Not your average clowns - over the top performance- specifically random. The word is Shneeraha."

The Cabaret

David Conor Driver: a composer/songwriter/performer/singer, has been involved in the Johannesburg music industry for the past 5 years. Since graduating from music college he has been involved in numerous projects ranging from live performance with the likes of DrivingFish to assistant musical director of the Richard Loring production Girl Talk 007. GAVIN RAJAH - HOMME

Gavin Rajah followers can expect the same attention to detail in his latest men’s collection with meticulous attention to detail and quality as he has become renowned for. This season includes the first pieces of his ready to wear men’s range that has a strong emphasis of tailoring both casual and formal together. The pieces are perflexed and make for a collection that caters for modern men who want to reflect trend.

Rajah insists that the collection is “not for the man who remains confined and dedicated to what his peer's wear – it's for the man with a mind of his own and who is unafraid of being himself”.

Jackketrs are fitted and nipped into the waist with traditional length shortned to create a longer silhouette. Pants are flat fronted and created in a narrow skinny leg version or a staright leg with lower rises to sit on high hip. The collection uses linens, denim with Lycra, viscose knits, Italian cotton suiting and high tech polyamide textiles to create a contemporary wardrobe. Foil detail together with pearlescent prints make this a collection for the young at heart.

Rajah states that,“It’s a collection perfectly suited to anyone with the personality of a 3!”
